Weight Loss Wednesday


I am so very inspired by my friend Brittney who has lost an amazing 44 lbs!!! She's done it the slow and steady way, over the last 6 months, which is how I am planning to shed the pounds also!

So my weight loss journey started...well to be honest it started after I had Noah...I did so great with the help of Let's Lose, lost about 30 lbs in 3 months, then I slacked off a bit and got pregnant with Jonah and gained it all back. every last stinkin pound! so this time around I am starting 10 lbs lighter than when I started Let's Lose and my goal is to lose 55 pounds by the time our Christmas trip to Disney World gets here!!

(above: This picture was taken in August 2009 after I had lost about 30 lbs! still wanted to lose another 30 after that but it didn't happen..i got pregnant again instead!)

Jamie and I started working out daily (or almost daily) at a little gym down in Greenwood and have been eating much healthier...lots of protein, no sugar (bye cherry coke! i sure have missed my afternoon Sonic Cherry Coke!!!), and low carbs (notice i didn't say no carbs! could never do that again! tried it in high school...not the diet for me)

stats so far: as of Monday, which is our weigh day, I have lost 3.5 lbs!!! I need to take my measurements so i can see how many inches i'm losing as well...I'm doing really good with the weights and can already feel a change in my weak, flabby arms! also, i've been going to the gym in the morning, they have a sitter for the kids, and i love the energy it gives me for the rest of the day...we had to miss today due to MOPS and Noah's first teeth cleaning appointment (that story will come later)
so wish jamie and i luck on this journey...he wants to lose about 100 lbs (he's already down about 8! i'm so proud of him!!)

just gotta toot my own horn!


okay, so i've been with Let's Lose since the end of May.

we've had our ups and downs...many, many downs...and then several surprising ups...but today was great! i have finally surpassed my 20 lb 'mini goal' and hit 23 stinkin pounds today!!

my consultant, alicia was really proud of me and she even emailed my picture :)
why yes, thank you for noticing! i am wearing a smaller scrub top!! i got to move down a size because we had an extra at work and it just happened to fit this morning!!
what a great day it was!!
Goal Recap:
Longterm goals = -65 lbs/healthy bmi/i want to fit into the jeans i wore before i got married
So far = -23 lbs/bmi has gone down about 5 or 6 points/ i can wear jeans from 2 summers ago!! (about 1 1/2 dress sizes so far!)/ -24.25 inches!!!

facelifts and tummy tucks

i've been "trying on" new looks for my blog today..but i think i'm in need of some real help! it still just doesn't 'feel' right! 
so let me know what you think so far...and feel free to leave me any comments/suggestions on what would make it better! anyone know any good, free header designers??  i'd love to add pictures to my header! 

in other news...i'm still dieting with Let's Lose! at my last weigh in i was up to 21 lbs/ 24.25 inches lost!! i am still daily amazed at how much i have really lost, especially when i try on pants that haven't fit in 2 years and they are too big!!! Heck Yes!!
...keeping it in perspective, i still need to lose about 40ish more lbs. but hey! i have lost 21 lbs!! that is FABULOUS!

of course, having a baby completely changes your body. duh! 
i just didn't realize how much it would change it.

my thighs will never be the same. thunder thighs does not begin to cover it. my tummy sags in ways i never knew it could {cesarian scars are just not pretty! i'm gonna ask my ob to do a tummy tuck after the next baby!} my boobs...oh heck, i'm just gonna say it. a few months ago jamie called them "swahili woman boobs." don't pretend you don't know what i'm talking about! but ladies, there is life after breastfeeding! they will shrink back down to normal proportions! stretch marks, varicose veins...these are the reasons i will not be wearing a bikini to the beach this year! 

it is perfectly respectable to wear a swim skirt to the beach! 
come on ya'll show me some love!! ;)

11 days left til our vacation to the Outerbanks, N.C. and Washington D.C.!! i can't wait!!

i woke up on thursday HUNGRY!
hungry for junkfood!!

i've been doing so good with my diet, but i just couldn't stop myself!
so this weekend has been an all out binge! 
(just don't tell Alicia at Let's Lose!)

i promise i'm stopping
seriously.
i'm throwing the oreos away. in the trash...
well, maybe i'll save a few... i'm sure noah would like them.

a little purple ribbon

today i got a cool gift. 

a short, no frills, purple piece of ribbon.

it may not seem like much now, but when you realize it's exactly the length of the number of inches i have lost in just 4 weeks you will be smiling as big as i am right now!! :) 

my ribbon is 12.75 inches long!

i got my picture made with my ribbon...and my certificate that shows i hit my 10 pound goal! i would show you my picture but my good friend alisha down at Let's Lose took it with her camera...i didn't have my camera handy darn it!

long term goal: 65 pounds 
weight lost: -10 pounds
left to lose: 55 pounds!!!! 

in other news, noah is crawling up a storm!! he can really get around! he is also pulling up on everything and being really brave and letting go to move to something else... he stood alone for like 2 tenths of a second! hahaha!! i was probably the only one who saw it, but it still counts! he got to go swimming today with his gama! i bought him some new swim trunks last night with Lightning McQueen on them! haha! he loves that movie!! :) he totally zones out while they are racing! it's so funny!



jamie's spiderbite is doing a little better. we thought he was going to have surgery today to have the dead part removed, but once he saw the dr. he decided to wait and see if some different meds. would help to shrink the wound...if he operated today he would have needed to remove a golf ball size piece of flesh from jamie's thigh! not fun!! 
he wants to see him again on the 23rd to see if it has shrunk any, if so, then he probably won't need surgery...so please be praying that it shrinks, or goes away completely with the new meds, and with God's healing powers!

my weight loss endeavor

3 weeks ago i started a weight loss program, along with my husband's family...my hubby is the only one so far to not jump on board. the program is called Let's Lose and it focuses on eating healthier as a lifestyle change. at my first week weigh in i lost 5.2 lbs!!! then at my 2 week weigh in i lost another 1.5 lbs!! so that's a total of 6.7 lbs!! in just 2 weeks!!!  i go for my 3rd weigh in tomorrow!!!
while on the Let's Lose program there are a few rules you must follow:
#1 you must eat 3 meals a day + 2 high protein "snacks"
#2 you must use the supplements (2-3 per day) provided by Let's Lose..high protein shakes, bars, "snacks"
#3 you must drink at least 8, 8 oz glasses of water per day
#4 avoid salt!
#5 avoid sugar!
#6 avoid caffeine!  (i haven't had a coke in 3 weeks!! this is HUGE for me!!)

there are other rules as well, but i think these are the biggies...and so far these have been doable! i never realized how dehydrated i was until i started drinking tons and tons of water a day! now i know that my body needs it and i feel amazing! while i feel so great that i've been able to follow all of these rules it's rule #7 that is killing me...

#7 you must exercise for 30 minutes 3 days a week

exercise is my weakness, my hard spot. i have a really hard time getting out there and exercising without lots of encouragement and motivation...so last night i bought the new EA Active Personal Trainer for the Wii! i haven't tried it yet but i am going to tonight!!!
