<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had a fabulous birthday yesterday!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
27 will be another great year, I'm sure of it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We had a low key kinda day, but we managed to pack in a ton of fun!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My parents stopped by to drop me off a little gift which included a sweet picture of the boys that I had instagrammed while we walked on the land the other day. Mom knows I rarely get around to printing the pictures - so she went ahead and had it put on a little mount and everything for me! They also brought me a rock that dad had picked up that same night.{Backstory~ if you knew me when I was around 10 years old, you probably saw my rock collection. I've always been a nerd and I collected cool rocks I would find and kept them in a caboodle :) You are a true 90's kid if you had a caboodle!! Mine was purple and heart shaped, and yes, I still have it along with all the rocks inside.} So dad found this rock and thought I would like it because it had a hole bored into it.. a perfect, cylindrical hole and the cool thing was that the opposing piece was still inside it! So mom planted fake flowers in the hole :) I love my mom's creative-ness! She used Easter basket grass too!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My sister had me and the boys over for lunch and she fixed us fried chicken and mashed potatoes! Sooo yummy!!! Jonah got up from the table, so I thought he was done and I reached over and ate his three cut up bites of chicken...well then he came back for the chicken.. oops :( </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After the boys' nap time, we hit up the park for a few minutes..it was pretty warm for this preggo yesterday - then we picked Jamie up from work to go to my grandparents home. Grammi and Papa cooked a huge meal for us - ribs, baked beans, coleslaw, bread, and chicken nuggets and fries for the kiddos :) I had mentioned to Grammi that I made a horrible apple pie the other day {seriously, I threw it away.. do not used canned apples. eww.} So she had an apple pie and vanilla ice cream for dessert! So Yummy!!! The boys had a blast playing outside and getting dirty! Noah even got to spend the night! Jamie and I were talking on the way home about how special it is that the boys have great grandparents and that they are able to really spend time with them!! They are super special to me, I was the first grandchild and I spent a ton of time with them growing up. Grammi of course sent us home with all the leftovers and tons of little birthday goodies - including gifts for the boys!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Tonight is dinner with Jamie's family at Olive Garden. It seems to me that all of my family knows the way to this preggo girlies heart - lots of yummy food! :)</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQSeHUbIXT37jlaei0W3cJpheNA2vqj2Ojv7LmUnFF6A5OwqtILrJcXV6oo1yajV3FtfhlfMBok6-BwOt1Q7f6KCYmpS66keUhZolhowI2lTbXCpWxSMkHJFgEeTC4jyDvfKInM-MVses/s1600/land.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQSeHUbIXT37jlaei0W3cJpheNA2vqj2Ojv7LmUnFF6A5OwqtILrJcXV6oo1yajV3FtfhlfMBok6-BwOt1Q7f6KCYmpS66keUhZolhowI2lTbXCpWxSMkHJFgEeTC4jyDvfKInM-MVses/s400/land.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Isn't it true that when one big life thing happens there seems to be a million other things going on at the same time?? That seems to be the season of life we are in!<br />
<br />
Here's how my list is going right now:<br />
<br />
Praise to the Lord that our house sold!! {Just waiting on final appraisal and closing, etc..}<br />
The week the house sold, we found the land we all felt "right" about... a total God thing!<br />
We are *this close* to owning the land ~ just gotta go through all the paperwork, bank stuff, etc..<br />
We are set to close on our house May 23rd...and...<br />
baby Isaiah will make his debut on May 30 {via c-section} if not before!<br />
<br />
"God works all things together for good for those who are called according to His purpose!" Romans 8:28<br />
<br />
The Lord is blessing us in so many ways and being 32 weeks pregnant, I've been super emotional about all of it. But it's awesome! We are so excited and nervous and anxious and we can't stop driving all the way out to the new land to look at it! We took my mom, dad, sister, and brother in law out to see it tonight and Jamie showed us where they found a natural spring...it's the coolest thing!! Literally just water bubbling up out of the ground and it has created the prettiest little creek. We saw a dead coyote and lots of deer tracks tonight! It really is breathtaking and the boys are in heaven!!<br />
<br />
some other random things going on right now...<br />
<br />
*I'm trying really hard to have my quiet time early in the morning before the boys wake up..which is really a challenge for me..I'm not usually a morning person. So far, so good, and I feel like I have more time in the mornings to get stuff accomplished. I think the Lord has been keeping the boys asleep for me ;)<br />
*Isaiah will be here so soon!!! he's getting huge and I'm getting to that really uncomfy stage. Blessed to have a healthy, big baby boy growing perfectly!!!<br />
*Jonah is potty training..still...he did great today until he pooped his pants while we were visiting the land tonight!!<br />
*we picked a middle name for Isaiah..but it's a secret :) just for a little while longer though.. Jamie's sweet Aunt Detra allowed me to make it *official* by ordering a diaper bag for me with his name on it!<br />
*my twin nieces are turning one in 8 days!!<br />
*my 27th birthday is Monday!!<br />
*we are on an "electronics" ban at our house ~ and can I just say that I'm loving it!! I'm still allowing myself computer/phone privileges..but NO tv!! No tv, iPad, iphone, or computers for the boys and it has been an amazing week! i'm hoping we can stick to it for a while. The break has been really good for us!<br />
* I am praying for several close friends who have all found out they are pregnant!!! It's a baby boom!!<br />
*BSF is almost over for the year and that makes me really sad :( Next year is the study of Matthew and I know it will be great, but I've really enjoyed Genesis and I don't want it to end!!!<br />
*T-ball is in full swing and both boys are playing on the "Wrecking Crew!" It's hilarious.<br />
*Noah is registered for a 2 day a week Pre-K starting in September for homeschool families! I'm really excited for him and nervous for us as we embark on this new challenge!!Kaceehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16960368984866649615noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8945812704874546244.post-27107832939694312832013-03-29T17:23:00.002-05:002013-03-29T17:24:47.584-05:00So I took a wrong turn...<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">*please understand that I am just pouring out my heart here and trying so hard not to be judgmental...I just can not get this event out of my head and I felt like it would help if I just blurted it all out!</span></div>
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span>
Yesterday was a normal Thursday. The boys spent the day with my father in law and were playing at The Monkey House when I got off work. Since I had an hour to kill, I thought I'd do my last minute Easter basket shopping and decided to include Jamie. On the way to his office, I somehow managed to take a wrong turn. I am 30 weeks pregnant, exhausted, and probably just wasn't paying attention like I should have been. He has worked at the same building for about 8 years and I've visited there a million times and never missed my turn.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">God made me miss that turn</span>.<br />
<br />
Tears are flooding my eyes even as I'm typing this, because what happened next truly broke my heart and made me so emotional.<br />
<br />
I am so THANKFUL that I got lost.<br />
<br />
My pregnant brain couldn't decide which street to take and that's when I saw her.<br />
<br />
She couldn't have been any older than Jonah. And she was alone. On a busy street.<br />
<br />
My mind began to race, as I frantically looked around to find an adult. Who did she belong to? Then I saw another little one, maybe 4 years old. It must be her sister. She was across the street chasing two dogs.<br />
<br />
I slowly pulled over and decided I had to call 911. When the dispatcher picked up, I got out of my car and began walking towards her.<br />
<br />
I'll never forget watching her in those moments. The yellow car certainly didn't see her and as I screamed for her to "Get back!" she took one step backwards into the ditch. Another woman, walking with her son, met me on the street and we got to her just as the other little girl was crossing the street with the dogs.<br />
<br />
I stayed on the phone with the dispatcher and the other woman scooped up the little girl and began asking her where she belonged. A man next door, who did not speak English, began pointing to the house in front of us. We waited in the yard, for what seemed like an eternity, after knocking at the door.. and finally another child emerged. He didn't know if any adult was home or not. Several minutes later a very young woman, holding a tiny infant, came running out to the yard. She said she had been in the back feeding the baby and had no idea that the girls were outside.<br />
<br />
I almost cried in front of her when she yelled at them for opening the gate.<br />
<br />
She rushed the kids inside, closed the door and shades.<br />
She sent a man out to wait on the cops.<br />
<br />
I stayed until the policeman arrived. I so badly wanted to get out and interrogate the man. To scream, "Where were you??!!" The mom in me needed to know that those babies would be safe. But I won't get that peace. And it's not just those babies, it's all the kids in similar situations. My heart breaks for them. For the kids that are just a nuisance to their parents. The unwanted children. The kids that are neglected. I'm pregnant and very emotional, but this just hit me so hard. I have so many friends that have struggled with infertility and it just doesn't seem right.<br />
<br />
It's making me take a closer look at how often I ignore Noah and Jonah. I've been in that mother's shoes. Even if it's not the same situation, and don't get me wrong, my kids have never been in a dangerous situation like that; but when Noah has told me the same one liner a thousand times and I just brush him off, or tell him to please stop talking about Ben 10! Or when I get onto Jonah for singing loudly in the car because I'm on the phone or I just cannot handle hearing "I can't fly, I can't fly, I can't fly" on repeat anymore! Just being honest. Kids can really really really try our patience. I joke all the time that God gave me boys because he knew I needed to learn patience. But I don't want to ignore my kids, or just be bystander. I want to always be present, physically and emotionally.<br />
<br />
I thanked the policeman and drove away, shaking. It took everything in me to not cry until I reached Jamie's office and then the floodgates opened. Poor Jamie and his bosses wife, Becky, could barely get the whole story out of me I was such a mess. Becky put it perfectly though when I said I just didn't care about going to get Easter basket goodies. She said, "You were on a divine appointment."And that was so much more important!<br />
<br />
I will likely never know what came of that incident. But I can hold my little guys closer and let them know that their mommy is here and I'm always watching, always listening.<br />
<br />

<b>Where's your favorite place to spend the night? </b>camping out - at church camp!<br />
<br />
Noah is 4 years and 5 months old. He is such a big kid!! He will start a Pre-K program in September and we have been doing a very relaxed version of what I call "homeschool preschool" a few days a week. He is so smart and already knows so much! He is memorizing verses each week to go along with a letter of the alphabet..this past week we have been on G "God is Love" 1 John 4:8.<br />
<br />
He has been so excited about starting T-Ball this year and when we got dressed yesterday to head to practice, he asked if his cleats were the new ones that would make him run faster. I said "Sure!" and he said, "Thank you so much mommy for buying these for me!" He apparently didn't realize that they were the same ones he had played soccer in! When we got to the field he told Jamie and I that he wasn't gonna give up this year! He wasn't gonna cry, he was gonna keep trying!!<br />
<br />
He is the sweetest, most sensitive little guy. He gets his feelings hurt very easily. He loves to ask about Isaiah and kiss my tummy and hug me and tell me he loves me about 1000 times a day. He will always give sugars to the whole family before we leave. He loves his brother, even though he gets annoyed with him a lot!<br />
<br />
He is a great helper!! It might take him a little while - both boys have learned "I'll be there in a minute"- but once he gets focused he can get a lot done! He is very organized!! Part of cleaning up his cars always involves putting them into 2 boxes - one box is the one he likes and the other box is ones his brother can play with!<br />
<br />
He has an amazing memory - especially for stories, songs, and action figures. He is great at explaining things to Jonah and loves to be "in charge" of his "bruber" He is a non stop talker and loves to be silly. He really likes to make people laugh!<br />
<br />
I love my big kid!<br />

He was just turning 2 and his answers were so sincere and sweet! You can find her interview <a href="http://emilyshares.blogspot.com/2013/03/interviewing-our-2-year-old.html" target="_blank">here</a>! So I thought this might be fun to try with the boys. I was able to <strike>coax</strike> <strike>bribe</strike> sweet talk Jonah into participating yesterday when he stumbled into the kitchen after nap time :) That's when he is at his sweetest and super cuddly :) He promptly asked for "milllyykkk" and we sat at the table with a box of colors and a letter recognition game; I had my notebook and a list of questions! {bold is me talking}<br />

<b>Okay, but how do we count just to ten? </b>A! B! C! D! huh? {and then he just busts up laughing!}<br />
<br />
Jonah is 2 years and 8 months old - he will turn 3 on July 8th. He is such a sweet boy! He really thinks he is a big kid just like "bubba" - and has almost mastered the art of potty training! He loves to help me around the house and he loves Noah so much! He is really excited about being a big brother and loves to talk to Isaiah.<br />
<br />
He is definitely different from Noah - he loves stuffed animals, he could care less about learning his colors/shapes, he can throw the fakest temper tantrum, and he has no fear! He is a little daredevil and always very mischievous! But when he laughs and smiles he just melts your heart! He knows he can get his way if he turns on the "charm" - "But I want it" is a common phrase heard from him...accompanied with a very pitiful looking sad face! He started something we call "lovin' sugars" which is where he puts both hands on our cheeks and pulls us in for a kiss...but lately he has been saying, "Hug only! No sugars!" Every now and then he will sneak in a lovin sugar at bedtime :)<br />
<br />
He loves music! He is constantly making up songs and singing about things we are doing. He always has a song stuck in his head and he loves to pick out the songs we sing at bedtime. I will usually sing 3 or 4 songs, but hen he has to sing a few by himself too! His favorites right now are "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,""Jesus Loves Me" "Don't Wash My Blankie""How Great Thou Art" and several more...<br />
<br />
He loves all things trains and big trucks! He is obsessed with trash trucks right now! He always wants to stop and watch them pick up the trash cans!<br />
<br />
I could go on and on. He is such a special little boy! Thanks Em for the fun idea of interviewing him!! :) can't wait to hear what his answers would be like in another year!<br />

We all had a great time!! We started off with the scavenger hunt- Jamie and I are always drivers! This year we were the Iron Man team, so each bonus question was about the movie Iron Man. The boys stayed with Nana and PaPa while we were gone and they formed the Captain America team and went to Chuckee Cheese and McDonald's! After we found all our locations we still had almost an hour left, so we took our group to Braums for milkshakes!! I told them that's what happens when you rides with the pregnant lady!! When the scavenger hunt was over, we played some fun games and then had a great worship service. At midnight we all danced around the youth building singing and just having s great time!! I was so happy that both boys made it all the way to midnight - and Jonah promptly crashed on my chest soon after!! It was a great night!!! <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Obviously, elves love sugar in any form. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you haven't watched Elf, watch it. Right now! Will Ferrell is perfect as Buddy! He pours syrup on spaghetti. it's a classic in our house. Jamie and I quote lines from Elf more than any other movie...especially this gem, "You smell like beef and cheese. You're a fake. You sit on a throne of lies!" </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We finally got some of our gifts wrapped, so Eli had to try and sneak a peek! my amazing wrapping skills stopped him of course (LOL! and BTW props to my mama for helping me wrap some awkward gifts! I hate wrapping presents!) The pretty yellow chevron ribbon was Noah's pick from Hobby Lobby! I decided not to use gift tags this year and instead I let the kids pick a ribbon so they would know whose gifts are whose! Jonah chose orange sparkly ribbon :)</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
He could have eaten the whole jar and I wouldn't have cared.. chocolate chip cookie fail! Thought trying a new Pinterest recipe for Bisquick Cookies sounded like a good idea.. it wasn't. They are still in the cookie jar. And PS - we had an open house on Sunday and I left the Elf in the cookie jar... of course I wasn't here so I didn't get to see people's reactions. I hope someone noticed it!!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The boys had fun trying to figure out why Woody would be fighting with Eli :) Maybe Eli wanted to take Woody's hat? Who knows?! But Jonah really enjoyed finding this one and then playing with Woody the rest of the day! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Okay, so most of these ideas are not original... (DUH! who has time to come up with this stuff?! i would like to thank Pinterest and several FB friends for supplying me with a never ending list of elf ideas!)...and when i saw this on FB yesterday, I just knew the kids would love it. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was wrong.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Noah like seriously got angry about it. Why would Eli touch his precious milk? You cannot make strawberry milk with green milk apparently. Oh no! that's disgusting...so now I have to drink all the green milk by myself. And, I know it's just a mind thing, but it kinda makes me nauseous to think about drinking it. It must be a pregnancy thing...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I quickly turned around because this 2 year old tends to be a bit destructive. I stood up and started to take the Bible away when he opened it.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I said, "Jonah, this is God's word. This is my Bible." He replied, "I wanna see God." and it hit me. and because I'm pregnant and I cry a LOT, it made me go all deep and mushy. <div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This is exactly why I opened my Bible today, cause I wanna see God. I wanna hear Him talk to me through the beautiful stories, and the paragraphs with too many names that I can't pronounce, and the letters in red that I know His son spoke. I wanna see Him working in my life, my husband's life and in the lives of our children. I wanna see His promises fulfilled. </div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXiXOBOwdWje2sIhBXu1ro_qmGzNAWVRPUlihjQeb9BXPNrY2dOAGDiRr5U9dkCzsa7T06LUP2_vPkC4fUB1rNfzLbCKKxeKv3_rzKGnHP5dx2PbTrSCVbLnOYtLmg5fMdItZzswBMllc/s1600/IMG_1333.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXiXOBOwdWje2sIhBXu1ro_qmGzNAWVRPUlihjQeb9BXPNrY2dOAGDiRr5U9dkCzsa7T06LUP2_vPkC4fUB1rNfzLbCKKxeKv3_rzKGnHP5dx2PbTrSCVbLnOYtLmg5fMdItZzswBMllc/s320/IMG_1333.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I am so thankful for Bible Study Fellowship! I was never good at having a daily quiet time, and to tell the truth, it's still hard for me. But the more I study, the more I wanna know more, understand more. God has given me a deeper need to know Him more, and I feel like over the last two years I've really been learning how to trust in Him and depend on Him to meet my every need. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I think the words of my 2 year old sum it up pretty well... I wanna see God. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I hope we can all remember this Christmas season the REAL reason we celebrate. It's not about Santa, or our Elf on the Shelf. It's not about decorations or food. We celebrate the fact that our Savior came as an innocent baby to radically change the world forever and I am so thankful for that! </div>
<div>

After some mild confusion about getting Alyssa taken care of after bowling, her mom knew we were going but didn't tell her dad and they were planning to leave for Dallas after church... It all got sorted out!!... we headed to lunch at a local diner! The kids chowed down! Alyssa ordered catfish :) Jonah ate bacon. Only bacon!! And Noah shared pancakes with Jamie! We loaded up the kids and went to bowling world! Sunday special is two games for $5 shoes and all! Jamie didn't want to bowl due to his shoulder- more on that another day... Well we made it through one game!! Alyssa scored 104, Noah scored 81, Jonah scored 100, and I came in dead last with like 70 points!! I am a terrible bowler!! The kids were all ready to leave so we went back to the church! <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJJMbH5DWAevSfRnNJAbtx_v6z3R-9c8C33yjh_KTKyEyVeb7mPWvptEXuOuxvjwO9Lcgy7mKPC3z1z_4ivHhyyabkDjkNoE-ttxtOJ83So8GSRP4GS9xaK1G4_kjnmvf7bmpN8jkkygw/s640/blogger-image--99145056.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJJMbH5DWAevSfRnNJAbtx_v6z3R-9c8C33yjh_KTKyEyVeb7mPWvptEXuOuxvjwO9Lcgy7mKPC3z1z_4ivHhyyabkDjkNoE-ttxtOJ83So8GSRP4GS9xaK1G4_kjnmvf7bmpN8jkkygw/s640/blogger-image--99145056.jpg" /></a></div> <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_7USfat2OQCyyW2x9_4k7RS6g_YZ3zm-YaxGdM9wh0ccSJqT22DklqrYbmg4h6hEWVZmZF4i_siMnf3oruaQ2TdDydF_zBqVN7JAtbZg3UR8INrAA8dL2Q7nCf84YrZ5GBVu8Ws__rYI/s640/blogger-image--1444497484.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_7USfat2OQCyyW2x9_4k7RS6g_YZ3zm-YaxGdM9wh0ccSJqT22DklqrYbmg4h6hEWVZmZF4i_siMnf3oruaQ2TdDydF_zBqVN7JAtbZg3UR8INrAA8dL2Q7nCf84YrZ5GBVu8Ws__rYI/s640/blogger-image--1444497484.jpg" /></a></div> <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoX8ljQG8O2940nhERp8L2KAXR8a_aiGUgOGoe-VCFrHesCvNDcEQyDXbxt8C8PVrDf8d9IzgM2QzNEGCp7W3H5g2Mip2A1YS2W2sDmvevjWCxn9XUau8bQaiBNPDRP3AZt0YjESO43cA/s640/blogger-image-345393115.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoX8ljQG8O2940nhERp8L2KAXR8a_aiGUgOGoe-VCFrHesCvNDcEQyDXbxt8C8PVrDf8d9IzgM2QzNEGCp7W3H5g2Mip2A1YS2W2sDmvevjWCxn9XUau8bQaiBNPDRP3AZt0YjESO43cA/s640/blogger-image-345393115.jpg" /></a></div>Kaceehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16960368984866649615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8945812704874546244.post-89768125367986134832012-12-09T07:54:00.002-06:002012-12-09T07:54:56.150-06:00O Christmas Tree<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I thought it would be fun to put trees in the boys' rooms this year since they are loving the christmas lights! We got a cute little blue one for Jonah's room, since they didn't have orange which is his favorite color!<br />
And for Noah, I found a traditional tree with colored lights. We let the boys hang ornaments, you can see most of Jonah's are on the first branch on the bottom! Daddy brought in a special surprise! He gave each boy one of his own ornaments from when he was little! Jonah got a tiny wooden train and Noah got a little boat called the Jolly Roger! They really thought that was cool!! They love their trees and we've been leaving them on as night lights so it's dual purpose :) It's so fun to watch them get so excited over everything about the Christmas Season!!<br />
I can't believe how big my sweet boys are. And to think that next year, we will have 3 kiddos to celebrate with!! Wow! God has truly blessed us!!Kaceehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16960368984866649615noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8945812704874546244.post-65593658271083352042012-12-09T07:41:00.001-06:002012-12-09T07:45:45.537-06:00The Nutcracker<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Yesterday, I surprised the boys by taking them to see The Nutcracker!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Of course, they had NO CLUE what it was!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
{I had checked out the movie and book from our library, but my guys didn't seem interested}</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We all dressed up a little bit so I had to get a belly shot and Noah wanted in..Almost 15 weeks!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I invited my mom and mother in law to come with us to make it extra special! </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The boys didn't know what to expect and we so excited as we took our seats. Once the lights dimmed they were entranced! Jonah could not stop talking.."where they going? where the presents?" And after every scene, they both (especially Jonah) clapped and clapped!! Noah seemed to understand the story, but Jonah was really just concerned about where everyone had gone when they went offstage!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It was a beautiful show. Our friend Abby was a "party girl" and she did amazing!! She's such a cutie, and she really shines on stage! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
On the way home, I asked Noah what his favorite part was and his response made us crack up..."My favorite part was NONE!" I said, "does that mean you liked everything or nothing?" He said, "Nothing" which wasn't true..he LOVED the mice!!! especially the King Mouse, and we all loved the cute little peppermints!! Jonah's favorite part was the music..he danced a lot! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They did get a little bored around the end and Jonah kept asking for the iPad that i brought. I told him he couldn't have it until the whole show was over, so as soon as the curtain closed he said, "I have iPad now?" </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I know they really enjoyed themselves because they couldn't stop talking once we got home to tell Daddy! </div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
obviously this is wayyyy out of place for December, but I forgot to post these pictures! So, for Halloween this year, we dressed up as: Jonah - a monster, Noah - the Gold Samurai Power Ranger (Antonio), and Kacee - a pregnant housewife. I asked Jamie to go as the milkman but he thought that would be too inappropriate :( party pooper!! I think it would have been hilarious! I padded my dress with a pillow since I was only about 8 weeks or so at the time. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We walked around our neighborhood until it got dark, then we headed to Greenwood to do the walking trail. Several high school students were lined up all around the town's walking trail passing out candy. It was fun, but very dark (we forgot our flashlights, so we used my phone!) The boys got way too much candy {we still have almost a full bucket at home!} They had a blast and we ended the night by stopping at Nana and Papa's house. As soon as we walked in the door, Noah was out of his costume! Guess he had enough of it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next year we will have 3 little munchkins to dress up!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
1. Jamie pulling the kids in the wagon in our subdivision 2. Jonah looked so cute as a monster 3 & 4. The boys running up to get candy!! Noah really had it down this year! 5. My costume and the boys before we got started..you can't see the high heels..that was a bad choice! 6. Little monster booty! cutest thing ever!<br />
<br />

<br />
Today the boys opened their calendar gift to find that it was the 2nd annual "Daddy Day!" Jamie and I planned that they would all three tag along with our church's youth group on their christmas trip to Tulsa for a day of FUN!! They left early this morning and I have received so many pictures today of all of their fun adventures! They visited Incredible Pizza, the mall, the park, and even went to look at christmas lights! The boys were especially excited to visit Tulsa, because they know that is where their favorite aunt Jenny lives!!<br />
<br />
While the boys were gone, Carah and I worked nonstop on meals for the month of December. We started out yesterday - making our meal plans and shopping lists - then headed out to Sam's Club and Walmart at 9 am...I think we finished shopping around 11:45 and headed home to unload everything...we had not anticipated the weather being in the 70's! so that posed a bit of a problem with leaving cold/frozen food in the car in between the two stores...I made a quick dash home to unload all my groceries..while still trying to remember what I needed to take back to Carah's house for cooking! It was slightly less organized that I would have liked, but we made it work!!<br />
<br />
We really set out to accomplish a lot, and I was happily surprised when I realized we actually made everything on our lists - and all before 7 pm! What a day!!<br />
<br />

<br />
most of these meals are enough to feed us at least twice, or would be perfect for when we have company over.. Carah was sweet enough to make the hamburgers for me with the little bit of extra beef I had after making all that lasagna!! I also have deer meat this month from a generous friend at Jamie's office, so we plan to make deer chili one night.<br />
<br />
okay - so, after cooking all day, and while the boys were still gone, I got another errand completed! My sister in law, Jessica, asked me to help her decorate for a wedding shower at our church tomorrow for a sweet young couple we love, Jessica and Ryan. The colors are gold, silver, and red and since the church will be decorated for christmas, we decided to use those color of ornaments to spruce everything up! I worked tonight on gathering a few pretty glass vases and filled them with ornaments! I think it looks so pretty together and I can't wait to put it all together at the church!! I'm also going to do a cute subway art chalk board with a wedding theme to it.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Today, I had a baby doctor's appointment, so my dad and my Grammy watched the boys for me. I got back just in time to follow them to the mall to get the boys' Santa picture made!! It was hilarious! You would have thought it was their first year doing this! Neither one would smile, until I said that if they would hurry up and smile we would be done! That was good enough for Noah, and they snapped this pic just in time before he jumped down and ran off!! Jonah just looked disgusted with the whole thing! He wouldn't talk to Santa or move..he just sat there like this the entire time! It was a great memory for the adults and I'm sure the boys will laugh about this picture when they get older! Thanks Grammy for doing fun stuff like this for my boys!!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We did a follow up ultrasound today, since I didn't think the one back in October was accurate...and I was right!! I am further along than they thought!! 13 weeks and 2 days!! The baby looked awesome and was seriously bouncing up and down the whole time!! The heartbeat was 161 bpm! I'm feeling pretty great, except for still being tired A LOT - but I think that is to be expected when you have two active little boys!! When Noah saw the ultrasound picture he said, "Mommy, look! This is all the kisses we've been giving the baby!" I'm not sure what he meant, but it was really sweet! I don't go back to the doctor until the first week of January and I might get to find out the gender at that appointment!! (I think 19 weeks on the day of my apt, but they aren't usually allowed to tell the gender until 20 weeks...we shall see!!) This appointment made me feel so much better after that last ultrasound making me feel like I was crazy! I just knew I was further along than I thought...and while two weeks may not sound like much, in baby time it is!! So much is being formed and created right now, and every step of this is such a great miracle! I keep thinking of that verse, "You knit me together in my mother's womb." It's really awesome to know that God is forming this precious baby and already knows what he/she will look/be/act like. It makes you wonder how anyone could doubt our magnificent Creator!</div>

I am so excited for Christmas this year!! Last year, we spent the week before Christmas at Disney World, and although that was fun, it made Christmas feel very rushed, and I felt a little disconnected. But this year, the boys are both VERY excited and really into every element of the holiday season and I have SOOO much fun stuff planned for them!!! My mom always did a Christmas Calendar for us while we were growing up (I blogged about that last year when I made the boy's calendar) and I love that we are able to continue that tradition!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This will probably be the last year where I can work on the calendar while they are in the same room, because they can't read yet!! I feel like next year, when Noah starts preschool and is 5, things will be a little different! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My mom came over tonight to help me get the calendar ready - we only left a few days blank because we are waiting to hear if a special little friend {Alyssa} is gonna get to participate on Sundays!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I scoured our local entertainment websites to find fun, cheap activities for us to do as a family and was surprised to actually find several things that were FREE and a lot that my kids would enjoy! Our biggest splurge is going to be seeing The Nutcracker on the 8th! Both grandma's are coming with me and the boys and we will make a night of it!! Our friend's daughter is in it this year as a "party girl!"</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I looked for a while on Pinterest to see what other people did for their advent calendars and just in case anyone ever uses this for a reference for theirs, I thought I would include a list of what we are doing each day! (Note: last year, I mostly did small, wrapped gifts or candy, and I did several "scavenger hunts", but this year I wanted to stay away from candy as much as possible and focus on family activities!!)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. 2nd Annual Daddy Day </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2. Monkey House {hoping to bring a friend along!}</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3. Local Parade and Trail of Lights - FREE</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
4. Decorate a Cookie Day at the Library - FREE</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
5. make a christmas craft at home</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
6. small treat ~ gold doubloons :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
7. Shop for our Angel Tree gifts</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
8. The Nutcracker!! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I spent yesterday morning/afternoon getting our house decorated for Christmas. We don't put a lot of effort into decorating, but I love to make our house feel warm and sparkly! I even put some decor in the boys bathroom this year! Jamie helped me hang christmas lights in each of the boys rooms and when they walked in the house and saw the tree up they both looked so surprised and Jonah even said "My Chrismas!" Noah just couldn't get over the lights in his room!! He was thrilled!! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I have this tiny chalkboard in my kitchen - my mother in law made it for me! I try to either do a verse or some "subway art" that pertains to the season. I had a lot of fun doing this one yesterday! It's fun and challenging to try and make different fonts with a tiny piece of chalk!!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Jamie and I have decided that this is the last year for this tree to be our "main tree." At least half of the lights didn't work this year...pretty sure they didn't work last year either! We put it in the kitchen for the first time because #1. We didn't have room in the living room unless we moved out some furniture #2. I wanted to be able to see the lights through our front window! We used a miss-match of ornaments, a lot from when Jamie was a little kid - like his Beaver and Train ornaments - and some that we have accumulated over the years - like Noah's Arks!</div>

While on the train, we were entertained by kids singing Christmas carols, we got to meet Santa, and we ate cookies with hot chocolate!! The kids had a great time, even though it took forever!!! It's 9:00 now and we are just now on the return train from Van Buren!! Noah and Jonah even brought their santa letters with them to show santa and Noah proudly exclaimed "I want a scooter!!" <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_mr8NxFVeaJXeljcUQwg3ceGsa6wBVEL6MD1O2g-pPJK_50RZLK2VWdxybNBlcmM-LoGizlnWaO7o5jdvUPypFqPTxZuAweA3M8uEOuuA9ayBELTVbN3F__j6DASz9lIJUu7GdXCNUsM/s640/blogger-image-1437556170.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_mr8NxFVeaJXeljcUQwg3ceGsa6wBVEL6MD1O2g-pPJK_50RZLK2VWdxybNBlcmM-LoGizlnWaO7o5jdvUPypFqPTxZuAweA3M8uEOuuA9ayBELTVbN3F__j6DASz9lIJUu7GdXCNUsM/s640/blogger-image-1437556170.jpg" /></a></div> <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD3o3HKvQ4US3Ci5rGehQfsr1BQ6yGWzEwrnSSQ-K15hfWOOZ2tPvnt53j7KtdFw1UYXmUkx44Tp2OJYQZ01EHIZgo1DEvv5rhnrTG0E2Gs3dLefcnsZuVIVjL5yToY5Xp2AzCSKj9T3c/s640/blogger-image--881521003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD3o3HKvQ4US3Ci5rGehQfsr1BQ6yGWzEwrnSSQ-K15hfWOOZ2tPvnt53j7KtdFw1UYXmUkx44Tp2OJYQZ01EHIZgo1DEvv5rhnrTG0E2Gs3dLefcnsZuVIVjL5yToY5Xp2AzCSKj9T3c/s640/blogger-image--881521003.jpg" /></a></div> <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTamk7To7XDtVO6Cgr1ZwxMm9ijIptpqFAqf9Hpdmgy3H6Xk5R_4GulUKdux3Y6bEAoi2vcMhZyimFaVNXPxAdapoR4x6Y05g_CKkCLQJDnfqT4M9_LfZcMEqHq3MH5wQz7njXScqw6Uo/s640/blogger-image--337346182.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTamk7To7XDtVO6Cgr1ZwxMm9ijIptpqFAqf9Hpdmgy3H6Xk5R_4GulUKdux3Y6bEAoi2vcMhZyimFaVNXPxAdapoR4x6Y05g_CKkCLQJDnfqT4M9_LfZcMEqHq3MH5wQz7njXScqw6Uo/s640/blogger-image--337346182.jpg" /></a></div>Kaceehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16960368984866649615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8945812704874546244.post-4395333140764175212012-11-24T14:26:00.000-06:002012-11-24T14:27:28.552-06:00Family Pictures <div style="text-align: center;">
We had some family pictures taken recently by a local photographer, Samantha Daniels. She was great with the kids and quick, quick, quick - we were done in about 30 minutes!!! I am about 2 1/2 months pregnant with #3!! Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
Noah says and does so many adorable/funny/crazy things right now, and I know I'll never be able to remember it all. Yesterday, while playing with Jonah, Noah got upset that Jonah had taken one toy that he must have really wanted to play with (even though he had like 40 other little characters on the table already) I said, "Noah, at least it's keeping your brother happy!" Noah said, "Yeah, but when will I be happy?" Oh brother! </div>

Noah will randomly burst into song..which isn't new, but at least now he mostly knows the right words to the songs and I can usually figure out what he's singing! Typically right now it's TobyMac, PowerRangers, or a Christmas song :) he loves to sing Jingle Bells!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
He knows almost all of his alphabet by sight - He will be in preschool next year as his birthday falls after the date for kindergarten sign ups. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
He still loves playing with cars, action figures, and is currently loving Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! He also knows several older shows, thanks to his PaPa! This video shows him talking about "Marshall Dillon!"</div>

Noah played soccer this fall for the Greenwood Boys and Girls Club. His team was coached by his daddy and they were the Bulldogs! He loved being with his new friends, Landon, Jaron, Gage and Trinity - but when it came to actually playing the game he really wasn't into it that much. Alone, he does great, but when the other kids steal the ball away from him, he just kinda shuts down and gets upset.. he spent a lot of time crying on the field, or sitting in my lap crying! He decided that he didn't want to do basketball yet, but wants to do T-ball again in the spring!<br />

Noah LOVES TobyMac right now! For an early birthday present, Gama took him to see his first concert: TobyMac and Jamie Grace! He knows all of the songs on the Eye On It cd and loved singing along. He even got VIP backstage passes (thanks to my boss, Dr. Jennings!!) and got to attend a Q&A session with Toby!! When he got home late that night, he was so excited and kept saying that it was sooooo loud!!!<br />

Noah is in love with his cousins, Taylor and Tinley! They are 7 months old now, and he loves to hold them, feed them, entertain them...he loves it when we go to Aunt CC's house and we say that he's in charge! We will watch him from the kitchen and listen to him sing to the girls and play with them. He loves to say "who's gotcha? Noah does!" A few days ago he even made up his own little game to play with them about a little sharkie coming to get them! LOL! I got it on video and Carah and I just cracked up!! He is so sweet with the girls and you can tell he just truly loves them so much! It has made him very excited about the prospect of having a sister!! He says all the time that he loves the baby, and if he's in trouble he tries to change the subject by saying "good baby!" and patting my tummy!!<br />

<span style="text-align: left;">Noah turned 4 years old on October 21 this year. He wanted a Samurai Power Ranger party! We had a lot of fun with all of his friends and family. We celebrated at Nana and Papa's house and the yellow Power Ranger, Emily - Noah's Favorite!! - showed up! Noah knew almost immediately that it was his aunt Jenny and when I asked him how he knew? "I knew by her words." Such a smart kid! Of course, knowing that it was her didn't stop him from getting a little shy/nervous and needing to hide behind me! The picture above really shows his sensitive side...I wiped some icing on my sister during a picture, so of course she retaliated, but with BLUE icing! Noah thought she was hurting me or something and came running up to me crying and trying to make sure I was okay! He has such a tender heart!</span><br />

We are expecting this little one June 15, 2013. Noah is insisting that it be a sister, and has been telling people that it's a girl, "Not another brubber!"We won't find out until December or January if he's right, so for now we will just enjoy the prospect of a sweet little one to hold in the summer!<br />
the boys are so excited! Noah talks about how thankful he is for his mommy because of the baby, and jonah has started referring to my stomach as "a ball" and he asks to "see" the baby all the time! so cute<br />
<br />

Happy Thanksgiving!Kaceehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16960368984866649615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8945812704874546244.post-23186108023703581122012-07-29T23:47:00.003-05:002012-11-24T14:28:15.087-06:00Noah and Alyssa<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
these two have been pals for the last few years, since Alyssa's family started attending church with us at Victory Temple. Aunt JJ works at the animal hospital that her parents own and operate. noah loves to play with alyssa, even though they are both a bit bossy and fight quite a bit...she's quite a bit older than him (she is 5, he isn't quite 4 yet)...she starts kindergarten this fall so she'll be a couple of years ahead of him in school. but for now they are just best buds. they spent all day together today - eating lunch at Firehouse, swimming, and then playing on the bounce around and water slides at church... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
a pretty funny conversation was overheard while driving to lunch...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Mark (alyssa's dad) - "Noah, what was your name before you got married?" (joking)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Noah - "My mommy says I can't get married til I'm big!"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Alyssa - "Noah! You'll probably marry me!"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
so in preparation of their future marriage ;) i thought i'd put together a little "through the years"</div>
